Boston Baked Beans

2 pounds navy beans
2 teaspoons baking soda
[1 or 2 onions, chopped]
1 or 2 pounds salt pork
4 teaspoons dry mustard or salad mustard
4 tablespoons molasses
1/2 cup ketchup

Soak beans overnight. Drain off water and pick out bad beans. Cover with water and add soda. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour off green water and rinse beans. Cover beans with fresh water, and add onion and salt pork. Boil until tender (about 2 hours).

Put beans in a crock with mustard, molasses, and ketchup. Stir, and bake at 350 degrees F. for 3 to 4 hours.

[Number of servings not given, but probably serves 10 to 12.]
